Hey there and welcome.
Panama is one of the places that many people do not consider going to for a diving holiday but, in fact, once you have been here you will surely return. I can say that with certainty because the diving is truly off the scale. Humpback whales breaching off the boat, Orca's giant fins cutting through the water, Whalesharks and their calves, huge schools of Tuna,Barracuda, several species of sharks ( Grey Reef , White tip, Hammerhead, Bull, Tiger) Turtles, incredible amounts of reef fish, Black Marlin, Sailfish, Dorado....the list is endless.
The diving off the Chiriqui coast is very similar to the Coco's and Galapagos islands as the topography is a continuous underwater mountain chain from one side to the other.
Water temp's vary depending on season from a brisk 20 to a comfortable 26. A 5mm full covers all eventualities.
Visability also depends on season but worst case scenario is 3 metres and best case 25m plus.
Diving can be quite strenuous off the Chriqui coast and the tidal range is large. This leads to very strong currents so we have to be careful to time our dives well...Either that or we go for a rip roaring drift dive.
I would be grateful to anyone who has also dived off the chiriqui coast to perhaps write a little something on this Blog. Not everyone can be wrong .
